Baptism during Covid - pool must tough the ground?
by jwfacts inthe july 2020 announcements mentions that baptism can be held in an “inflatable pool” as long as it touches the ground.
the pool must not be “on a terrace, flat roof, balcony, etc.”.
has anyone ever noticed that as a requirement?.

i'm surprised the watchtower ever approved of baptisms in a plastic pool. i would have thought they would follow the bible more closely.

I don't get it - Marriage in WT world
by menrov inin wt world, a marriage is only seen (considered) as legal if it is registered in the municipality (or similar governmental organisation).
now, if you look at the scriptures, there was no requirement to have a marriage legally registered in order to be considered married.
is it not strange that the wt subjects themselves to and adopts an worldly arrangement setup but governments rules by satan when it comes to a marital status?.

DIO--yes--dad had to be very careful with proceedings--and record keeping--just in case the marriage went sour. think what could happen if it transpired a couple were never legally married after all.

i remember one wedding farce--back in the late 60's.
it was common back then for young dubs to marry in their teens--i was 20. my bride was 19.
a year or so later--an even younger couple got hitched..well--almost. they had hired a hall--organised a reception..new suit--bridegown for her--ring--the lot...well--not quite.
the talk got underway--we were guests--about 100 in attendance. the congregation servant did the talk. i cant recall the exact sequence of events--but it was realised there was no authorised person present, to officiate. it transpired they hadnt given the required legal notice ( the banns )..so the whole thing ground to a halt.
the reception still went ahead--but the couple went back to their respective parents homes that night.
they got a special licence and got married the following week.

my old jw dad was an authorised person--which meant he used to attend jw weddings in the Birmingham UK area to do the form filling at weddings. this was in the time frame early 70's to mid 80's. he kept records for years in a strongbox.
he told me of one ceremony where the elder conducting was departing from the formal words the couple had to repeat; he had to interrupt and insist the elder used the correct words in the correct sequence. the elder was not a happy bunny.

Worldwide Campaign Nov 2020
by Listener inthanks petra and atlantis for sending the latest letter regarding the watchtowers plan for a worldwide campaign in november this year.
i am wondering what they are planning to achieve from this campaign, particularly their focus on sending the watchtower 2020 no.
2, titled "what is god's kingdom" to politicians, governments (and tribal leaders) around the world.. it would appear that this is their answer to governments who have put them in the spot light for their bad policies, particularly their handling of child abuse.

Many businesses and organisations will fold in the pandemic, it’s not out of the question that Watchtower should be one of them.
yep--and they will probably blame jehovah.
